Blaine was born in 1982 and grew up in New Orleans, the sole son of four children of professional, metropolitan parents with rural cultural heritages. After attending an exclusive primary school, he moved to a culturally diverse public magnet school in New Orleans. He exited the University of Georgia after two years in favor of disciplined, independent study. Later returning to New Orleans, he became restless and made his way to Southern Appalachia to work on a wilderness preserve and to paint in the solitude of the mountains. In the summer of 2011 he returned to Louisiana where he nurtures his lifelong passions of horsemanship and painting.

    Blaine's work is rooted in his wonderment of the mysteries of life and in celebration of the freedom of art.
